Our Activities
Focus on Quality Education, Care, and Protection for Children
Admission at English and Kannada Medium Schools:
We have admitted all 22 children in English and Kannada Medium Schools. The school has a good campus, teaching staff and state of the art facilities for the overall growth and quality education. The van picks and drops children to Panchavati Home accompanied by an assistant. The warden visits the school monthly representing as a ‘Mother’ of the house to meet the teachers and the principal.
Tutorials/coaching:
Most of the children come from Kannada medium schools and the transition phase is hard for most to fare in English medium School. While focusing more on Maths and Science we give importance for all the subjects. The in house teachers spend extra hours with children who need extra hours of coaching. Besides we also make groups for peer learning which is very effective. As a result, we have over 90% of children doing very well in the academics.
Counselling services:
As part of the care and well being of our children we provide time to time counselling for every child in Panchavati. As most of them come from disturbed families they go through lots of emotional issues that needs to be addressed time to time. Once in 15 days the child gets 30 minutes of time with the Counsellor to hold dialogue and seek help. Our counsellor are very supportive and kind towards the children and ensure to make them feel accepted and cared for. We also hold medical check-up on monthly basis. We hold general medical check up and some times we have special camps on Dental, Eye care and Skin Specialists being part of the camp.
Sports, Yoga and Recreational activities:
In addition to the Academics, we ensure children have all round development. Hence, we have dedicated time slot for sports, yoga and recreational activities. We have a dedicated space for out door games with lots of play equipment’s with sand bedding. There is over 4000 sq.ft area of garden where the children get an opportunity to water the saplings, apply manure and tend the plants. This gives them an exposure with nature which is therapeutic as well for the well being of children. Groups are made and roles are given to help them handle several responsibilities pertaining the hostel. This gives them an opportunity for self-improvisation and tend for Leadership development.
Family visits and interaction with family/ guardians:
In order to build the bond with the families we encourage the parents to visit Panchavati home. Counselling sessions are held sometimes with the child and the parent. We also have a program of our staff visiting the families of the children. This gives an assurance to the parents of the love and care that Panchavati offers for every child and betterment of their childhood. Our visits to the families has built better bonding between the parents and the children.
